Helping run racism out of town

It’s a subject that we’re passionate about here at Codeweavers. We’ve always thought that if you're talented, you're talented, period, regardless of race, colour, creed or sexual orientation. Take a look around the office and you’ll see that we’re a diverse bunch and then some!

But of course we can all do better and getting involved with ‘Show Racism the Red Card’, the UK’s largest anti-racism educational charity, has spurred us on to take a good long look at ways that we can improve things too.

The charity provides workshops, training sessions, multimedia packages and a host of other resources to tackle racism wherever it raises its ugly head in society. Focused primarily around the high profile status of football, Show Racism the Red Card delivers training to more than 50,000 people a year.

Particularly in the light of the current ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, this seemed a great time for us, as a company, to show our support.

Driven by Matt Rice from our Platform Solutions team, our 100k running challenge is designed to help raise money for the charity throughout the month of July.

As Matt says: What started off in my mind as just a fun challenge  quickly spiralled into a way of showing our continued commitment  towards the much needed conversation on diversity and inclusion.

As a company we’re determined that this will be much more than merely a token gesture but rather a way of proving our commitment to be part of the solution for the long term.

All donations will go towards helping ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ continue with their important work. You can donate on our Just Giving page here. If you have any questions you can contact us at info@codeweavers.net or on 0800 021 0888.
