We would like a new point-of-sale system to offer to the Irish market
What they needed?
First Auto Finance (FAF) came to us for a point of sale system that they could roll out to retailers across the Irish market. They previously used an older system from us provided through their business partner, but decided they’d like a direct relationship with us, along with a brand new system to form the basis of their future digital strategy.
The new system needed to let retailers easily create quotes and build finance deals directly into the FAF back-end systems. While it needed to be compatible with local regulations, market and currency requirements, it also had to support quotes for imported UK vehicles.
They wanted to choose a supplier who could also offer online solutions to their retailer partners which would seamlessly integrate with the lenders’ POS system.
Why did they choose Codeweavers?
They wanted a direct relationship with experts in finance solutions, who had a strong track record of POS systems: us!
FAF knew what we could do because they used a legacy system provided by our business partner Close Brothers Motor Finance
They needed to receive a first iteration of the solution really quickly, and wanted to work closely with us to improve it and needed someone flexible with easily adaptable products
What did Codeweavers provide?
How we started
To start with, we gave FAF a version of our standard Point of Sale system and configured it to be as close to their requirements as we could. Then we worked with them to figure out the things which needed to be changed and developed to go live.
What we did
We worked through their extra requirements until the resulting system was perfectly tailored to FAF and their customers’ needs. FAF specified that the system needed to function in their local currency, so we made it so that anyone using the system could create quotes in this currency. This needed to be replicated once the quote was generated into a full proposal.
As requested by FAF, the system complies with local regulations and includes an Irish VRM lookup.
What we produced
The project has evolved much further than the initial requirements and we’ve provided a solution for FAF retailers to have a finance calculator on their website that has the same customisations such as displaying local currency within the calculator. The solution also includes the ability for car buyers to apply for finance direct from the retailers’ finance calculators. The applications get automatically submitted to FAF.
Take a look at what we achieved
- Customisation means it meets both their business and customer needs
- Future proofing their digital strategy
- Increase in the number of finance applications submitted to FAF
