An important feature of the YourCarLoan solution is the ability for the to dealer control how the finance is priced on their web stock.

There are three ways that this control can be exercised.

Codeweavers will hold a set of rates and terms that reflect the rates that they would like to present against their stock. E.g. The dealer may specify directly to Codeweavers that for cars aged between 0 and 24 months old the customer rate to be used would be 5.5% flat. There first limitation of this method is that only one SET of rates can be specified per product. The second limitation is that the only driver that can be specified is the rate used for the calculation (usually a flat rate or a yield depending on the calculator used).
The dealer can specify to Codeweavers a single parameter for all their stock on a per product basis. I.e. a commission, customer rate or an Apr for each product. The limitation here is that all vehicles will be subject to the same defaults for the products requested.
Because every calculation can be derived based on its own parameters, the dealer can specify down to an individual vehicle/product combination, what they want to offer the customer. I.e. the Apr, commission or rate can be different for every product on every vehicle if required. The only issue with this method is that the dealer needs an interface to specify what they want to offer.

Our suggestion is that option 3 gives by far the greatest flexibility to the dealer and is a requirement for most of our customers.

Below is an example implementation of the third solution. (note this is merely a mock-up and has no functionality).

The first section shows the interface for the dealer to define global defaults for all their products and all vehicles that do not have specifically defined parameters. The idea is that the client system would check to see if the dealer had defined parameters for the vehicle(s) being displayed, if so then these would be used to drive the calculation. If not then the default values would be used.

This second section represents the same functionality, but provided specifically for every vehicle. There should be no requirement to change from the defaults, but the functionality should be available for every vehicle.
